I like to write my recipes as if I’m sharing them with my sister or best friend, similar to how my grandmother and mother would have jotted them down on a napkin or the back of an envelope to pass to a friend. My book brings together many cherished, scrawled-on-a-note- card, traditional Southern recipes but makes them simpler and more modem—versions of the classics that meet the varied lifestyles and needs of today’s families.
